I’m here at WPTC and the class is learning how to blog.

I have not used my blog since spring quarter 2007, so I will be refreshing my memory as my IDS 203 students learn to use this tool! If this quarter is like past have been, the Ethics students really surprise me with the depth of their understanding and ability to express opinions and questions. I look forward to hearing their presentations about current ethical issues and to reading their blogs following the presentation.

Eleven of us went to the Ethics Symposium this evening. I was proud of the students and how they conducted themselves. The speaker was interesting and easy to listen to. We learned about right to die/allowing someone to die issues and the development of technology. Because a presentation will be made in class, I will reserve any lengthy indication of content. Watch for posts from class members about the event. Hats off to all involved.

Those of you who were in class today know that it was not my smoothest effort. As I said, though, I consider it a wasted day if I have not had a chance to learn something new. Since I learned that the C 284 computer lab has no internet connection, I guess at least it wasn’t a wasted day. It need not be a wasted day for you either, because I will give 5 extra credit points to the first 5 people who post a comment to this message indicating to me that you have visited and explored my blog. I will give an additional 5 if you tell me a lesson you learned today! May all your days be learning opportunities!
